Katherine Wilson has recently been creating art in a slightly different format than in previous years.
The varieties of what she works and the mediums with which she works are the result of attempting to express an idea or concept. Her focus is being in the present moment with the intent of staying quietly centered, seeking a simple beauty in subtle variations.
Katherine received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Dayton and studied art at the University of Cincinnati and the Parsons School of Design, New York.
She initially pursued a career in education, teaching fifth grade special needs before devoting her full-time to art. She has created art posters for musical groups, worked on set designs, and designed and produced costumes for numerous plays.
Proving no canvas is too large; Katherine has painted extravagant murals and faux paintings in several homes in Ohio, New York and Arizona.
Katherine is an acclaimed illustrator for over 75 Children’s books, two titles of which are on the B. Dalton’s Best Sellers list. Katherine has exhibited in numerous one-woman shows and various group shows throughout the United States.
